Hand powered washing machine

This washing machine was built in the early 1800s. It is hand operated and it’s used to wash clothes. It was a big step up from the washboard. There were several different companies that made model similar to this. Today we load the clothes in a clothes washer or washing machine push a few buttons and the laundry gets done.

Chuckwagon

The wagon was built in the early 1800s. It is called the ‘bed wagon’ because it travelled with the herds of cattle when they were coming up the trail from Texas or wherever. It carried the bedding of all the Cowboys. It carried the spare ropes, saddles, tarps- all of the equipment they needed on the trail.
